"I'm sometimes an eagle. I'm flying alone, I know where I am, I take care of myself. I'm smart enough to know what to do in important times for me, the eagle.
But in this country I'm a little bird against big and tall buildings that are in my way. For now I need help to fly and to live. And that's good sometimes. But one day I wan to be big enough to open my wings and fly over those big and tall buildings, but always with somebody, my flock." - Pedro, age 17, from Changing Worlds' Newcomer Mural
The student artists selected the motif of migrating birds as the central image to express their initial fears of leaving, their journey and adjustments to new surroundings and their hopes for the future. This beautiful and compelling mural encourages audiences of all ages to share their stories of change.
